D ay 10 - Inauguration. What a ride! Thanks to everyone for your support on the journey, and to the local community for welcoming us, and showing up in full force for the celebration! We have many more photos to process, and look forward to continue sharing them with you all! Stay tuned!

  Day 8! - Finishing touches! We tightened all the bolts on the bridge deck, and cast the approach slab for the bridge. Due to rain, we had to cover the concrete with tarp to avoid any water damage.  D ay 7! - Cutting custom panels for the centre of the bridge span to close that final gap! The panels were bolted in, fencing was added, and the bridge is officially crossable!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Now final works are commencing, including backfilling the second abutment, concrete topping, painting, and grading. Day 6! Week 2 has commenced! Today marked the day the bridge is cross-able (but still requires fencing and a final few panels) Activities of the day included painting, attaching fence, moving rocks, and of course decking decking decking. For more see b2pjabiro2023 on instagram

Day 3 - A big day of moving rocks (backfilling), building scaffolding, and coating the cables to prevent corrosion. What was supposed to be a chill day turned into the hardest day so far! Day 2 saw completion of pulling the last cable, winching all four and setting the sag. The crossbeams were also prepared with the suspenders ready for launching. Big day out on site, akazi keza! See more at instagram.com/b2pjabiro2023

Day 1 was a great success! All 4 cables were hauled across the river and 3 out of 4 cables were clamped at both ends. A start was made on the fabrication of crossbeams and suspenders, and the F value (design low point of tensioned cables) were marked on both abutments.
